THE PHONEY WAR (sep 3, 1939 – may 10, 1940)
Description:
This was a 6 month time period where Britain and France did not attack Germany, despite their declaration of war. Britain and France just sped up their production of war supplies, gas masks and called up conscripts into the army, since they felt safe behind the Maginot line.
This Phoney War ended after Britain tried to Germany off of their supplies. However, Germany invaded Norway first and Britain and France were humiliated.
