Description:
Mariner 6 and 7 are the next pair of spacecraft designed to fly by Mars and gather atmospheric data with remote sensors, as well as gathering many more photographs. They end up both flying over the equator and south polar regions, revealing that the dark features on Mars seen from Earth were actually not canals.
