Description:
December 15-16, 1864: On December 15, 1864, a very important battle took place. In the Battle of Nashville, one of the dominant Confederate armies, the Confederate Army of Tennessee, almost got completed destroyed. General George Thomas commanded a Union army that was responsible for this action. This was a win for the Union because it resulted in the end of the Army of Tennessee as a fighting force.
