Plains Indians Wars (jan 1, 1850 – jan 1, 1877)
Description:
Series of conflicts from the early 1850s through the late 1870s between Native Americans and the United States, along with its Indian allies, over control of the Great Plains between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains.
Indians registered a few victories in that fight by then the US army won.
Massacre of Indian women, children
The last instance of Indian resistance = the "Ghost dance" movement -> a sort of cultural manifestation of Indian resistance, a desperate move. Indian believed that this would help them, they invoked dead Indian spirits that would help them to fight.
