Description:
Throughout the 18th century, the struggle for territory between France and Britain in North America intensified.
Expansion in the Northwestern Territory (in the Ohio Valley) was central in the esclation of tensions between the two European powers as they both claimed the territory.
Native American communities were largely implicated on both sides (Iroquois, Shawnees, Delawares, etc.)
Encroachments led to the French and Indian War (1754-1763).
Great victory of Britain over France.
