1800's Free Range Drugs (feb 9, 1800 – jan 1, 1899)

Description:

The 1800s saw physicians utilizing opium as a pain killer in order to conduct surgeries that were once done on conscious and alert patients. This practice soon found its way beyond the operating table and as medicine for all sorts of ailments, which eventually led to its recreational use. Because of its medical use and the public misconception of the drug, opium and other drugs were not regulated by the state.
