Description:
The Battle of Yorktown, better known as the Siege of Yorktown, ended the Revolutionary War. After a few weeks of General Washington's troops sieging the British base in Yorktown, British Lord Cornwallis surrendered, prompting the British to put an end to the fighting and allow the American Colony their independence.
