Heian Period (jan 1, 794 – jan 1, 1185)
Description:
It was named after the capital city of Heian-kyō, or modern Kyōto; and it was the final division of the classical Japanese empire. During this period, Taoism, Buddhism, and other Chinese influences were at there height. This period is also known as the peak of the Japanese arts; poetry, literature, and its imperial court.
