The soviet union launched sputnik and the U.S. wanted to catch but a massive failure occured, after the U.S. successfully launched a probe into space the USSR(Soviet Union) Launched the first man in space and then followed with more astronauts, The U.S. Devastated president kennedy order that by 1970 we would have someone the Moon, That job went to Neil Armstrong, The U.S. And The USSR Settled their differences and collaborated and this marked the End of the Space Race
