Lincoln presidency (6h 14min, mar 4, 1861 y – 9h 53min, apr 15, 1865 y)
Description:
Lincoln took office just before the civil war erupted. Lincolns objective was to save the union and also to end slavery in the US. He proved himself as a great military strategist and promoted several new military technologies including the telegraph. This communication breakthrough allowed for generals to communicate positions and news could be sent to Lincoln directly from the front lines of battle. This and other technologies and strategies won the civil war for the union. Because of this victory Lincoln was able to announced the emancipation Proclamation which freed all slaves in the south. Sadly Lincoln did not live long after he saved the union when he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865.
