Description:
The Chinese who were being ruled by the Mongols. Mainly ruled by Kublai Khan, who they thought had the Divine Mandate. He improved roads, built canals, and lowered taxes, as well as support artisans, merchants, and trade. Had a hierarchy of Mongols, Central Asians, Northern Chinese, then Southern Chinese. Kept a lot of the Chinese culture and administration, but did away with the civil service exam.
