Haudenosaunee Confederacy (jan 1, 1400 – aug 16, 1776)
Description:
The Haudenosaunee Confederation is essentially an agreement of six nation who live under the same house with the same rules that apply to everyone. They are considered to be the longest continuing participants in democracy. One aspect of this events contribution to liberalism is the rule of law. Everyone in the confederation had to abide by the same rules even the elders and other individuals to held greater power. This equality under the law is a key principle in classical liberalism.
