Renaissance (jan 1, 1300 – jan 1, 1500)
Description:
A period of European history that was characterized by a renewed interest in classical Roman and Greek culture, which included a renewed interest in humanism. This was the time period where the value of the individual increased. Through humanism moments, more and more artists and scientists began to adventure and realize the importance of the human body. Leonardo Da Vinci for example drew various sketches of the human body in a attempt to signify its importance (the vitruvian man). The importance of the individual significantly increased during this time period.
