The Battle of the Atlantic (jan 1, 1940 – jan 1, 1943)
Description:
Japan and America fought for control of the Pacific for 3 years and at one point the Japanese had every strategical island except Midway. After the Japanese loss at Midway the Americans pushed back the Japanese to their homeland using a strategy called island hopping. This is when they would invaded weaker island in a series of "D-days" and avoid the stronger island to make their way to Japan.
