The Great Famine (jan 1, 1315 – jan 1, 1317)
Description:
The Great Famine started because of bad weather in spring 1315. Crop failures lasted for two years, until the summer harvest in 1317. Europe did not fully recover until 1322. The period was marked by extreme levels of crime, disease, mass death, even cannibalism and killing infants.
