The Great Leap Forward (jan 1, 1958 – jan 1, 1962)
Description:
The G.L.F plan was Mao's initiative to turn China from its previous agricultural society into the idealistic Communist society. This plan backfired with disastrous results, resulting in over 45 million dead. Over 9 million died from starvation alone due to the lack of food supply, with the rest being accidental or executions and over 2 million being suicide.
