FDR and the Democratic Party (mar 10, 1932 – nov 10, 1953)
Description:
FDR was elected in 1932, bring in a new era of the Democratic Party. The Democrats forged new policies in the New Deal and other Depression era economic reforms. FDR brought together what is now thought of as the typical Democratic coalition urban workers and Northern blacks. FDR's New Deal and expansionary fiscal policy as well as his Liberal bent would be carried on in Harry Truman and his polices would continue through to 1953, with the Democrats taking large victories throughout Congress.
