Cuban Missile Crisis (oct 16, 1962 – jun 29, 1968)
Description:
USSR puts missiles in Cuba because the US has missiles stationed in Turkey. Both of these locations are very close to each, so there were high tensions at this time. When US learned about this through a U-2 spy plane, US put a policy of containment on Cuba (US supervised all the incoming ships for missile parts).
