Meeting of the estates general The king ordered the estates general to gather together and help stopping the financial crisis. There were 3 classes: the nobles, clergy and the third estate. Each estate had only one vote. The 1st and 2nd estate were mostly gathering together and so the decisions we mostly taken by them. This was the reason that determined the Third estate to make their own national assembly. They moved to a indoor tennis court, because they got kicked out of the Estates general.
fall of the Bastille A big group of people marched on the Bastille, which was known as a prison. This was a place where the unemployed people, and also the starving Parisians showed their frustrations. Marquis de Launay and his troops resisted for 4 hours before they surrendered. The king tried to prevent the revolution, but it was too late.
March on Versailles A big crowed of people mostly ladies marched from Paris to Palace Versailles. They went on the quarters of the Marie-Antoinette. The crowed demanded bread and wanted to get the King Louis back to Paris Louis accepted to go back to Paris, because he thought that the conflict would only be a matter of time.
Reign of terror The reign of terror was a result of the New National Convention. Robespierre established himself as a leader of the Reign of Terror. He thought that this was the only way to get rid of the people that are against the revolution. There were around 30000 to 40000 deaths during the year of the Reign. There were also killed important people such as the king Louis, his wife, and Robespierre.
