Dec 21,1879 Joseph Stalin's birth in Gori, Russia
In 1894, Joseph acquired a full scholarship to the Tiflis Theological Seminary.
1896-1897: Joseph was introduced to Marxism: the belief that a revolution would lead to a classless society. This is the origin of Stalin's interest in government.
1899: Joseph got expelled from seminary for spreading political beliefs and disrespecting school officials.
1902: Stalin was exiled to Siberia however he escaped and rejoined the Marxists underground in Tbilisi
1901: Stalin joined the underground Marxists in Tbilisi
1903: The Russian Marxists Faction split into two parties causing Stalin to identify as a Bolshevik along with Vladimir Lenin
1905: Stalin fueled his party's funds by robbing banks and making money transports
1912: Lenin broke from the Social Democratic Party and formed a new one, he appointed Stalin to the Party's Central Committee
1914: Stalin was exiled to Siberia again, and escaped in 1917 when the Czar was overthrown
March 5th, 1953: Stalin dies of a brain hemorrhage
1907: Birth of Stalin's first child, Yakov
Stalin and Lenin publish "Marxism and the National Question"
1921: Birth of Stalin's second child, Vasily
Stalin appointed General Secretary of the Communist Party by Lenin
Jan 4th, 1923: Realizing his health was plummeting, Lenin tells his party to remove Stalin from power. His reason: Stalin was dangerous.
1919: He was appointed Commissar of the Workers and Peasants Inspectorate.
1929: Stalin rose to power by getting rid of his 4 other opponents
Jan 21st, 1924: Lenin dies of a stroke
1927: Stalin begins his Five Year Plan to speed up agriculture in Russia
1932: Stalin's Five Year Plan proved to be successful
1936-1938: Stalin ordered his first series of purges. During this time he sent millions of people to concentration camps called gulags. Everyone that was sent to a gulag did not survive.

Feb 15th, 1921-Mar 17th, 1921: Soviet invasion of Georgia
Aug 21st, 1940: Leon Trotsky is killed
1941: Hitler breaks pact with Stalin and Germany invades Soviet Union
1945: When the war ended, the Soviets demanded and acquired much control over Eastern Europe
