Periods
Although the fifth and sixth cholera pandemics do ravage Asia, Russia, and elsewhere, advances in public sanitation are made in places like Europe and North America. These health advances help prevent cholera.
The First Cholera Pandemic takes place, beginning in British India. This outbreak would infect Southeast Asia, China, India, and parts of the middle east. The death toll estimates are as high as 2 million.
The Second Cholera Pandemic again started in India and Southeast Asia, and again spreading to China, going through the middle east, getting past the Ural Mountains in Russia, and going into Europe. The estimates of death toll and cases are unsure, but the cases reported in Russia alone are 250,000.
The Third Cholera Pandemic occurs, which again originated in India, this one has been considered the worst of them all. It spread throughout Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and killed over a million in Russia alone.
