Financial Support: (1949) The USA poors 500 million dollars a year into the French war effort against North Korea (Ho and Viet Minh).
Financial Support: (1954) France fails to hold their ground in Vietnam and pulls out despite receiving 500 million dollars a year by the USA
Financial Support/Political Involvement: America start funding Ngo Dinh with 1.6 billion dollars because he was anti- -Communist (1955)
Military Involvement: By 1962 JFK was sending military personnel that were referred to as "advisers" to not make it seem like they were getting involved with military forces.
JFK died on the 22nd of November and Lyndon Johnson becomes president
Military Involvement: Lyndon Johnson took a more violent approach and when the US congress passed the Toking Gulf Resolution which allowed president Lyndon Johnson to "take all necessary measures to prevent further aggression...", which basically just gave him the power to do whatever he wanted in Vietnam. (1964)
