1834 - Julian E Tenison Woods, born in Southwark, England.
1854 - Julian came to Tasmania.
1857 – Julian was ordinated in Adelaide and given parish of Penola.
1860 – Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods met in Adelaide.
1866 – The first Josephite school was opened in Penola, SA and Mary became Sr Mary.
1867 – Fr Woods wrote the first Rule for the Sisters and the first school in Adelaide was opened.
1869 – Sisters were sent to Queensland.
1872 – A community of sisters were sent from Penola to Perthville, NSW.
1880 – Sister sent from Perthville to Whangunai, NZ.
1882 - Sister sent from Perthville to Goulburn, NSW.

2012 - The Sisters of Saint Joseph Tasmania and the Goulburn Congregation, gained approval from Rome to merge with the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
2013 - The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Nazareth in Whanganui were granted permission to merge with the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
2014 - The Sisters of St Joseph, Perthville were granted permission to merge with the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
