1955 - December 1st Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus and was arrested.
1968 - April 4th Martin Luther King is assassinated at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennesse.
1964 - October 14th Martin Luther King is awarded with the Nobel Prize for peace.
1964 - July 2nd The Civil Rights act of 1964 is signed prohibiting any discrimination based on colour, race, religion, sex and national origin.
1965 - February 21st Malcolm X was assassinated in New York City by rival Black Muslims
1963 - August 28th Marin Luther King's movement begins, more than 200,000 people came to Washington for the March. King's speech "I have a dream" is published.
1954 - April 8th Brown vs. Board of Education case was moved to the supreme court.
1955 - March 25th Martin Luther King lead a 5 day march from Selma to Montgomery for black voting rights.
1963 - April 10th The KKK bombed a black church and killed the children at Sunday School.
1967 - June 12th Supreme Court ruling made interacial marriges legal.
