Descrizione:
Despite to the Treaty of London in 1839 which recognised the neutrality of Belgium, Germany sent an ultimatum to Belgium in August 2nd, 1914, demanding passage through the country in order to get to France as they invaded Luxembourg. Two days later, in August 4th, Belgium rejected to come in terms with Germany, with Britain guaranteeing to provide military support. Germany declared war on Belgium on this day. Although Belgium fought back, slowing the Germans down on their way to Paris, they lost and went under German occupation until late 1918.
