The Mexican Revolution started which caused Mexican Immigrants to flee to America, bringing with them Marijuana.
The anti-mexican campaigners approched their issues with the immigrants as being anti-drug and labeled the event as the "Marijuana Menace" and claimed that Mexicans who used the drugs would do terrible crimes.
Harry J Anslinger is elected as the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics
The movie "Reefer Madness" was produced with a view that those who used the drug would take part in terrible crimes such as rape and murder.
