Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN. He was shot on the second floor balcony by James Earl Ray after giving a speech just the night before foreshadowing his death. MLK was one of the biggest activists in the civil rights movement. The death of this huge African American figure cause outrage in the form of riots in over 100 different cities around the country.
