The Boston Tea party (16 déc. 1773 – 16 déc. 1773)

Description:

At midnight on December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party took place. Having grown tired of persistent taxes and the authoritarian rule of Britain, the colonists decided to dump 342 chests of tea sent by Britain
into the harbor. Some of those involved dressed up as Indians to represent their newly chosen 'American' identity. Dressing up as Indians also disguised
who was actually involved. The dumping of the tea outraged the British. Besides the political unrest, Britain lost a lot of money on the tea. As a result, Britain placed punishing
acts on the colonists, called the Coercive Acts (also known as the Intolerable Acts). These acts were the precursor to the American War for Independence.
