The Boston Massacre (5 mars 1770 – 5 mars 1770)
Description:
Massacre ocurred on March 5, 1770. The `State Street Massacre' (as it was initially called) was a confrontation between a mob of colonist protesters and British soldiers. The colonists were protesting the Townshend Acts. The people of Boston threw clubs, snowballs and stones. The soldiers responded with gunfire. Five colonists died as a result of the violence. A captain and eight soldiers were tried. Seven were acquitted and two soldiers were found guilty of manslaughter.
