Description:
Sculpted sometime in the 1440's, The Bronze David was made by the great Donatello and is considered his greatest masterpiece. The sculpture is also renowned as the first large-scale free-standing nude statue since antiquity. Depicting David after his battle with the Goliath, this version would have been made almost 50 years before Michelangelo's version.
