Description:
The exile of the Jews to Babylon lasted 70 years. Nehemiah and Ezra were among the captives who returned to Jerusalem after the king of Persia issued a proclamation to restore Jerusalem and rebuild the temple there (Ezra 1:1-4). Ezra helped build the altar to get sacrifices back online, while Nehemiah came to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
