Neoliberal Reforms (4 oct. 1988 – 10 nov 1992)

Description:

Demands for a reform of the higher education system and of the entire education system were raised in the late 1980s / early 1990s primarily by students and pupils. They demanded more participation, but also more money for education, a further social opening of schools and universities, free and critical education and a science in social responsibility.

But because the simple sell-off of state-owned enterprises to private companies, especially in the education sector, would not have been enforceable, other ways had to be found to subject schools and universities to market logic and open them up to the profit interests of the private sector, one of which meant autonomy of the institution.
