Selma March (7 mars 1965 – 25 mai 1965)

Description:

Martin Luther King Jr. led a march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama protesting the southern states that did not follow through with the then-recent civil rights legislation. The march started with the police using violence against the protesters. This led to a federal government having to use troops to protect the marchers.
