Booker T. Washington (5 avr. 1856 – 14 nov 1915)
Description:
Booker T. Washington was an early leader for black people in America. He advocated the idea that blacks should pursue self-improvement through educations in specific jobs, such as farming, mechanics, domestic service, etc. so they can become a valuable part of the U.S. economy, and thereby force the white people to see that they are productive citizens and treat them better over a long period of time, rather than attempt to challenge the preexisting system of racial injustice, which would surely fail.
