Tokugawa Period
After the Sengoku, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi
Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu worked to
get the Daimyo under control and uniting its people
as well. Tokugawa Ieyasu established his capital in
Edo which is now known as Tokyo. After a century
of war, Ieyasu maintained peace in japan Which
provided much needed rest. This period Imposed a
four tier class structure Samurai, Farmers Artisans
and Merchants. Portuguese traders converted some
of the Japanese people to Christianity. These people
