Peasant Revolt (30 nov 1381 – 14 h 40 min, 31 déc. 1381 ans)
Description:
This revolt was a response to the poll tax of 1381 where citizens had issues with the economy in Britain. People artisans showed their support for the rebellion and made it grow even larger. After the black death the economy was shattered due to a lack of job opportunities. This caused grievences in the agricultural labourer community because the Statute of Labourers attempted to create a fixed maximum wages for those workers. The rebellion lasted for six months and spread throughout England and starting in Essex and making its way to London. The Rebellion is often refered to as the Tyler Rebellion after Wat Tyler who orchestrated a massacre of Flemish merchants.
