Rule of Peter I (1 janv. 1682 – 1 janv. 1725)
Description:
Peter I is consider to be one of Russia's greatest leaders. He rose into power when he was just 10 years old, but managed too unify Russia and make it prosper. He was know for being poorly educated, but hard working, opened to ideas and practical. Due to this, Peter I radicalized Russia with "westernization", meaning he modernized Russia to resemble the rest of Europe. In order to support this modernization, Peter I needed to gain control a "warm-water port" to ensure Russia would be able to tradebll-year round. Meaning that Peter I started a war against Sweden and won territory in the Baltic, meaning Russia could trade throughout winter as well.
