Description:

Chinese Nationalists and Communists agreed to a ceasefire as they faced threats from Japanese aggressiveness. The Nationalists and Communists came together to fight an “effective guerrilla campaign” to force Japan to surrender. The fighting eventually continued between the Communists and Nationalists. Communist gained support and Nationalists got weaker. July 1937, the Japanese invaded China starting the second Sino-Japanese War. Japan won many wars to start. The Rape of Nanjing was when the Japanese showed their will to destroy the Kuomintang government. The Nanjing Massacre, wanton rape, looting, arson, and mass executions where about 57,000 Chinese prisoners and civilians were killed.
