Description:
The Presidency of Lazaro Cardenas began following the establishment of the PRI party and the first democratic government in Mexico. His presidency lasted six years following the end of his term. He served in the Constitutionalist Army (against Diaz) in the Mexican Revolution. He was a primary supporter of democratic reforms and was the first President under the new government. His major reform was bringing the oil industry back under Mexican control and creating more public land for Mexicans to use. This helped the Mexican morale following the revolution.
