Recently elected into office, Obrador is far-left in the political spectrum. He narrowly lost both previous elections of 2006 and 2012, and he finally won in 2018 as the leader of the politcal party he created called the National Regeneration Movement. It is the first time in 90 years that the president was not from PRI or PAN, and his goals are mainly to lower crime, help the lower class, and get rid of corruption in Mexican society.Source:
