Description:

Miguel de la Madrid focused his presidency on economic reforms and ending corruption in the government and state industries. However, his presidency was mired by economic crisis due to his predecessors. Debt and inflation skyrocketed, forcing de la Madrid to drastically decrease the size of the government.
