Description:
Akbar is seen as the Mughal Empire’s greatest emperor. He expanded the Mughal Empire by conquering most of India. Akbar’s toleration of Hindus allowed them to gain positions in the government and become prominent members in society. Akbar also reformed the government and gave civil administrators positions in the military. Akbar’s reign was important because his encouragement of religious freedom allowed for important discussions between religious groups. (4.2)
