The Thirty Years’ War was a religious war caused by the Protestant reformation. The war involved the Spanish, French, Dutch, Germans, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Bohemians, and Russians. It was caused by the Holy Roman empires attempt to force its Bohemian subjects to remain Catholic.
