Ottoman Dynasty (1 janv. 1299 – 3 mars 1924)
Description:
The Ottoman dynasty, founded by ghazis, Osman Bey and his followers, was an Islamic “gunpowder,” empire, meaning that it was formed using gunpowder weapons. The Ottoman military was very powerful, allowing it to reign in the area formerly controlled by the Byzantine empire and eventually expand into parts of Europe and Africa. The Ottoman empire expanded the most under Mehmed the Conqueror and Suleyman the Magnificent. Through its existence, the Ottomans had many conflicts with European states. Unlike their Indian counterparts, the Ottomans always discriminated against other peoples, forcing Christians into dangerous military situations and non-Muslims in general to pay the Jizya. The Ottoman dynasty fell due to economic downfall, religious tensions, and a weakening military. (4.2)(4.3)
