PCP (1 janv. 1950 – 1 janv. 1967)
Description:
Discovered by Parke, Davis & Co. in the 50s, PCP was initially supposed to be an IV-acceptable, fast-action operating anesthetic that would numb a patient, and keep them awake, but leave no memory of the events in the O.R. Unfortunately, some unfortunate people came out of it incredibly confused, hallucinating, violent, and with distorted perceptions of their bodies, all of which was fairly damning for hope in humans. However, it did see utility under the Sernylan brand as an animal tranquilizer, which gave the drug a street name. Beginning in 1967 though, people started mixing PCP and weed in the States, which was a cheap and available high. Light exposure to PCP mimics alcohol to an extent, but the drug becomes a whole different beast in greater doses, causing hallucinations, bodily perception changes, drug-induced schizophrenia (which can last for weeks at a time), and extreme aggression / violent tendencies. However, extreme doses can simply put you in a week-long coma, from which there is no known way to save you.
