Royal Justice (1 janv. 1154 – 17 h 22 min, 22 oct. 2025 ans)
Description:
- A body of justices who acted both at Westminster Court (it wasn't a Superior Court or a Court of Appeal, though) and in the shire courts.
- It was Henry's legal headquarters.
- PRECEDENTS: The Justices would sit together and informally discuss cases. So, they would build a body of knowledge and experience. They would then apply precedents in new cases. Common law was about being consistent across the realm and with previous decisions.
WESTMINISTER COURT
- It would hear mostly civil cases.
- It would hear cases quicker than Shire Courts, but for a fee.
