The most important figure on the left is the Shaikh who is receiving a book from Jahangir suggesting that the emperor prefers a mystic over the company of kings.
Below the Shaikh is the Sultan, hands joined in respect
Below the Sultan is King James I of England, shows a bit of arrogance and unease.
Lastly is the artist Bichitr (Hindu, because of the yellow robe he wears)
