First Bubonic Plague Pandemic (1347-1351 CE) (1 janv. 1347 – 1 janv. 1351)

Description:

The Black Death, over a four year period, killed over 25 million people in Europe, making the plague one of the most devastating diseases in the world. Trade was abandoned, many laborers died, agriculture took a toll, art became more preoccupied by mortality and the afterlife, and Anti-Semitism intensified throughout Europe as Jews were blamed for the spread of the disease- many Jews were killed. Positive effect was that wages for peasants and artisans increased.
