Description:

The Fall of the British Empire took its place after Queen Victorias reign, which led to a decolonisation. Every Colonised land started to become more independent. The first World War also happened under the 20th century. The depression began in the 1930s. The literature in the 20th century were modernised. Some of them were written under the depression like The Catcher in the Rye. I have read the book and it is influenced by the depression. Other modern classics that were written: the Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, the Old Man and the Sea. The literature in the 20th century had new themes, new narrative techniques and mixed the literary styles.

Post-modernism is a late-20th-century style and concept in the arts, architecture, and literature that represents a departure from modernism. The writers under this period experimented with the texts and broke the rules. New novel types such as fantasy and detective novels were written more and more under this period. Many modern classic novels were published. For example: 1984, The Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies etc.
