The period of time covered in the book of Second Nephi.The Second Book of Nephi was written by Nephi, the son of Lehi, who also wrote the First Book of Nephi. It is the second book on the Small Plates of Nephi.
The narrative begins shortly after the Lehites had arrived in the Promised Land, and opens with the last words and death of Lehi. Continues to just before the death of Nephi.
While it actually covers a much longer period of history, it contains less narrative and historical information. Instead the majority of the book is a record of the sermons of Nephi and his brother Jacob, as well as many chapters copied from the Book of Isaiah, which they had on the brass plates.
